22 Mile Long Oil Plume Proven Conclusively to Exist.
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution has been tracking a a massive underwater oil plume since mid June. Those in power, denied it’s existence, so Woods Hole shifted funds from tracking it and finding others to proving it’s existence. It took over a month they have successfully proven it’s existence and mapped it’s size and shape.
NOAA says they stand by their numbers (which don’t address this kind of thing because they deny they exist).
Where is it now? That’s a Good question says Chris Reddy from Woods Hole. They would like to track it but they are just one University and don’t have the resource.
More bad news in the video as well.
Gee, it seems our government has made some bad conclusions from their data, missed data and didn’t gather the right info from their samples . . .

Some mysterious discolorations of water have been found in a recent flyover in the Gulf of Mexico, near GPS cordinates: GPS coords for discolorations: 29 46 58 … 89 02 11
The flyover by the National Wildlife Federation staff observed:
. . . red streams on the surface of the water caught in a rip line. As we flew farther into the sound, we saw mile after mile — as far at the eye could see — of what looked like red tide or dispersed oil just below the surface . . .
As far as we can tell no water samples were taken which is quite a shame. I’d say it’s impossible to say what it is without testing some samples in a laboratory. We have a request for info in though . . . .

At the risk of becoming the Oil Spill news web site instead of the Red Tide Florida Web site, I have to throw one more quick article up about the BP Oil Leak. There is a criminal investigation going on against Haliburton (recognize that name?) , Transocean, Cameron International and British Petroleum for what has become know as the BP Oil spill (which was actually a leak, not a spill).
In criminal investigation there is usually physical evidence that needs to be gathered. This one is know exception. In criminal investigations the prosecutors usually let the suspected criminals gather the evidence for the prosecution. Wait! That’s not how it works at all. but that’s what’s happening in the gulf. The companies mentioned have but put in charge of gathering the evidence at the bottom of the sea floor because the government doesn’t have the equipment to do it, and evidently our government has never heard of all the other companies in the world that can do deep water salvage. Evidently they’ll put the Coast Guard (which is also under investigation for helping BP perpetrate several after the fact crimes) supervise the whole thing.
Just one question: Are we actually going to pay them to do this?

There been lots of information coning out over the internet that alleges some pretty awful things about BP. Worse, it seems that the coast guard has been aiding them in these alleged criminal acts. Several of them are tied to their overuse of chemical dispersants and the several massive wildlife kills they allegedly caused. The Huffington Post has begun a multi part investigative report on the criminal acts of BP. It’s not just the Huffington post either. There are several big web sites that are re printing these accusations. The one getting the most attention so far is the “Death Gyre” accusations that started with a local fisherman turned clean up worker. But there have also been accusations of intentionally grossly under reporting the amount of dead animals (and intentionally destroying the evidence), burning endangered sea turtles alive to avoid fines for molesting them (covering them in oil), bribery of oil rig inspectors, denying access to public spaces for scientists, reporters, government officials and citizens, and the list goes on. These accusations aren’t without evidence either. There have been photos and videos of the illegal disposal of animal carcasses that weren’t reported, Congress uncovered the evidence of the bribery and the overuse of chemical dispersants So far the main stream media hasn’t picked up on this. Instead they seem to be focusing on the good news of the well being finally shut down. With spending so much money on advertising in the main stream media outlets though, we have to realize they might be obligated to their shareholders to not publish all the information as BP might just reduce the budget for the outlets that publish news that BP doesn’t like. This is how the media is controlled in America to at least a partial extent. After all if you were in charge of the public relations for BP, had millions of dollars to spend on adverts and one media outlet was publishing harsher news stories about you than others, would you spend more of that money there? If you didn’t, I think you might find yourself quickly being replaced. More alleged “mobster style” criminal activity after the break: Continued…

Congress has discovered, just as we reported earlier, BP has been using more than the allowed amounts of chemical dispersants in the Gulf of Mexico. Further more, just as we reported, this has been done with the approval of the US Coast Guard, and perhaps even their assistance. Furthermore this is direct violation of at least one federal directive from the EPA limiting their use. Even worse, Congress is saying out loud that they suspect that they’ve been lied to about the amount of dispersants that were actually used. Why? The records show that more than what the USCG approved was being used and other record “discrepancies”.

Charlie Crist asked for more money from BP. They said no. And this just might be a good thing. Let me explain.
Governor Crist recently said he asked for $25 million to purchase adverts promoting tourism, in Florida. They said yes and he promptly spent the money on some ineffective advertising. Tourism dropped. New jobs created: 0. Gallons of additional Oil cleaned up or prevented from landing on Fl beaches: 0. Amount of money that went to people that were already wealthy: $25 million.
Two weeks ago, Mr Crist asked for $50 million more for the same thing. This time they said no. And now Charlies acting frankly, a little childish about it. He talking about “calling the lawyers”, remember he’s a lawyer himself so don’t be surprised if this does happen. He’s pointing out that BP is spending tons of money on their own advertising. Sure, Charlie o after them for the money, but use it to do some good.
We need to face the facts, each and every one of us, Charlie included. These facts:
- Nowhere near enough is being done to keep the oil from hitting land in the first place.
- It’s still leaking for God’s sake!
- The oil will hit our beaches. Lots of it on lots of beaches
- The tourists are going to stop coming.
- That oil needs cleaned up.
- If we continue to let it hit the beaches, most of it will have to be cleaned up by hand, by men with shovels.
- When it gets in the mangroves and the sea grass flats, it’s going to be even more labor intensive.
- Bridges, piers, docks, jetties and sea walls will need scrubbed.
- There are going to be lots of animals that need cleaned and released. some of these are going to need extended care.
Why not get money from them to work on that? Think of the tens of thousands of jobs that can and should go to Florida Residents first. Those we can’t fill with residents will be more jobs to give the state the growth that the capitalists (the ones that get politicians elected Charlie), the growth they so desperately need. The jobs are sorely needed. The work is certainly going to be need done. If we start preparing now, we’ll do a better job of it. we’ll also start rebuilding our economy faster.
If by chance Mr. Crist you happen to read this, how respected you’ll be by the voters and the business community if you create all these jobs, revitalize our economy AND save our beaches!

A group of scientist did took a flight over the northern portion of The Gulf of Mexico.
The good news is that they are still finding wildlife. The bad news they see huge plumes of oil headed for some very environmentally sensitive areas.
