Red Tide Returns in Lee County
Lee County is being hit by red tide again. That’s pretty much makes it a 3 year red tiude for them, with a few weeks off here and there.
A Red Tide bloom that doesn’t occur in the summer is dead give-away that something is desperately wrong.
If there’s red tide now, just think wehat it’s going to be like this summer when the water conditions are even more favorable for algae growth.

How long do you think it’ll take them to actually do something about it besides spend lots of money? With your help we can control red tide within two years, maybe less, dependng on how much resistance there is from the government and big business.

Question – Red Tide is a concern of ours. We are planning a two week vacation on Sanibel in June. Beachfront condo. Our 7 yr old is asthmatic – daily medicated for his condition. It appears we should look elsewhere for our vacation due to the “Red Tide” outbreaks. Also – if we do continue and come to Sanibel and just stay off the beach during the outbreak(s)- would this still cause an issue via airborne particles / mist from the water?
Looking at the Red Tide Charts for Southwest FL – Red Tide appeared to be an issue in the fall / winter months in Lee County – not early summer. But you are stating it could actually get worse in the summer months. Again – do we look elsewhere like the Northwest Florida?

I hope I’m very, very wrong when I say this but if it was me I would try the east coast of Florida, maybe NW Florida.
