Instead of studying how to stop red tide, prevent red tide or even what causes it, the scientists have spent the $16 million we gave them to do so on making a drug to bring to market. It get’s even worse. We’ve now discovered they’ve been secretly suing manatees as test subjects for this drug at the behest of a drug company.
A large basking shark was caught on video in the Gulf of Mexico this week. Is this a good omen, a bad omen or was it just a random occurrence?
More info is being returned from the necropsy on the 80+ baby dolphins found dead along the Gulf of Mexico’s shores this year.
An oily tide washes ashore on some Gulf of Mexico beaches and the officials appear baffled by where it came from. Here’s a hint: It’s not red tide!
What was originally suspected as a large oil spill from another deep water oil well, turned out to nothing but a massive slick of silt from a dredging project at the mouth of the Mississippi river. Not that that’s good but it’s far better than another leaking well!
