Cruelty knows no bounds: Florida man arrested for intentionally crushing ducklings while playing in a pond

A Florida man has been arrested for intentionally crushing ducklings while playing in a pond, officials said. While two ducklings died at the scene, one of them tried to hold on to life despite his broken bones and was taken to hospital.

The animal in question was killed shortly before 8 pm on Sunday. Law enforcement officers met with many different witnesses who witnessed the incident after their investigation. James Claremont was driving west on Orange Drive when he started his ride in his Ford truck.

There were 11 chicks and a mother duck playing in a pond in the middle of the road. Two witnesses, one of whom was a child, testified that Claremont slowed while driving through speed bumps, then deliberately accelerated and drove his truck to the ducklings.

Meanwhile, eyewitnesses called on Claremont to slow down and stop his car with all their might to save the ducklings’ lives. Despite this, Claremont, who did not stop, crushed three of the ducklings with his truck. While two of the crushed pups died on the spot, one was taken to the hospital.

Later, Claremont fled to his home, which was one street away from the scene. When the police investigating the case asked Claremont about the ducklings, Claremont replied that there were no ducklings on the way. He remained silent when the police asked him to explain the blood and duck feathers on the wheel of his truck.

He was very drunk when the police arrested Claremont. He had a speech disorder, and his eyes were red and watery. It also had a strong alcohol smell. Claremont is accused of aggravating animal cruelty while investigations continue.
