A man from Florida who pretended to be a member of the Wu Tang Clan was arrested.
It could be difficult to get hold of the Wu-Tang Clan and its affiliates. A man named Aaron Barnes-Borbo, who lives in Crestview, Florida, began defrauding companies by pretending to be a member of the Wu-Tang Clan.
Barnes-Borbo has admitted defrauding hotels, limousines, and other businesses, citing false connections with the Wu Tang Clan. After the confession, he was sentenced to 7 years in prison. Barnes-Borbo, who was arrested on fraud and conspiracy charges, will pay $300,000 in compensation.
Augusta, 52, is allegedly involved in the Barnes-Burbow fraud story in Washington, Georgia. The duo said that while they are members of the Wu-Tang Clan, they are also from production company Roc Nation. Georgia admitted involvement in the fraud.
David H. said: Estes, the attorney for the Southern District of Georgia, said, “For some time, the two men pretended to be artists and their affiliations and defrauded several businesses. However, this fraud was noticed by an employee of the hotel.”
They were reported to police at the Fairfield Inn and Suites on November 21, 2020.
