A man was shot dead after he attacked lawmakers with scissors at a Florida hospital
The accident occurred in Vero Beach, Florida. The man who wanted to hang himself was saved by his relatives at the last moment. The man was rushed to the hospital and placed under observation. However, soon after, he took a large pair of scissors, attempted suicide, and began attacking the police.
The person who endangered the lives of health workers and other patients inside the hospital was a 29-year-old man. When he was taken to the hospital, he was under control after a failed suicide attempt. Everything spiraled out of control at the Cleveland Indian Clinic.
The man started running around the hospital with big, unidentified scissors. Fortunately, there were four sheriffs nearby, and they wanted to intervene. The sheriff’s deputies who were chasing the man surrounded him, but the man had no intention of surrendering.
When the deputies besieged the man, the man pointed the scissors at his head and asked them to back off. All the vice mayors slowly started to back off. But in an instant, the two vice mayors drew their weapons and shot and killed the man.
After the accident, the mayors’ deputies were investigated. Management informed them that they would not resume their duties until the incident was investigated. According to preliminary findings, body camera footage used by the mayor’s deputies clearly shows that the man is holding a shiny object in his hand.
Authorities said the man was being held under the Baker Act. Sheriff Eric Flowers noted that it is possible for people with a high probability of harming themselves to be detained in this way, even if it is not voluntarily. He described recent events as a mental health crisis.
