Florida man dives into cold water to avoid being caught by police
The accident occurred in Volusia, Florida. A Florida man who was trying to escape the cops realized he had no other choice, so he jumped into the Intracoastal Waterway to escape. Realizing that he could not stay in the water for long, he preferred to succumb to law enforcement.
Edward Sotelo, who learned to live in Central Florida, was someone who had been imprisoned before. This time, a warrant was issued for his arrest for his involvement in a bank robbery. But Sotelo wasn’t quite ready to go back to prison. At least he tried to evade the police by trying something his way.
Body camera footage released by the Volusia Country Sheriff’s Office revealed all about the accident. Sotelo, who lives in Melbourne, was trying to evade the police. The police managed to block his way and believed they had detained him.
However, not everything went as the police expected. Sotelo first hit the police cars, then got out of his car and jumped into the inland waterway. He thought that he would somehow find a place to escape on the 3,000 mile long waterway. When everything did not go as planned, Sotelo had to surrender to law enforcement.
The police jammed Sotilo on Interstate 95. Sotilo, on the other hand, thought that with one last movement, he could crash into the police cars and run. He was unable to do so because of the barricades set up by the police. Sotelo, who immediately included the inland waterway in his escape plan, attempted to escape by jumping into the water and swimming.
Even if the police were initially surprised, everything was recorded by a body camera. The policemen were constantly shouting at Sotelo “You got arrested”, “It’s over”, “You can’t escape” and “You’re going to jail”. Sotelo finally surrendered to the police. When the cops promised to smoke a cigarette and swam to a nearby coast guard boat.
