Florida Man December 24 (12/24)

The man who told police he was planning to “go back in time” was able to crash a Dodge Challenger into a mall along North Davis Highway in Pensacola last week.

The vehicle traveled through the traffic light at the junction between North Davis Highway and West Fairfield Drive around 10:00 AM and then traveled through the Tax Advance Services main entrance. The car drove through the middle of the building before stopping in front of the double doors at the rear of the building.

The driver, who has not been identified, was not injured but was taken to the local clinic for a medical examination. No charges have been issued yet, according to a Pensacola Police Department press release.

Shawish. Marthes Lawrence claimed that no one was inside the building at the time of the accident.

Alison Bennett, co-owner of Pensacola Caskets, located near Advance Tax Services, is waiting for permission to join her business.

“They declared the building unstable from behind,” he said. “We were advised not to return to the building until the entire building has been disinfected for security reasons.”

On Sunday afternoon, office waste such as computers and vacuum cleaners were scattered throughout the area.

“If it happened on a weekday, and there was someone inside any of the stalls involved, it could be very disruptive,” Bennett said.
